Know-how
corsetry, a craft
A creative house since 1930, Maison Lejaby cultivates its expertise through the know-how of its Lyon creative workshops .
It perpetuates and reinvents, according to the rules of art, unique lingerie of beautiful craftsmanship made from the finest materials.
Between 30 and 50 elements make up a Maison Lejaby bra, assembled in 30 to 40 assembly steps by the corset makers.
The style
Maison Lejaby is a Creative House which, like Gabrielle Vianney, its founder, has always left its mark with a creative signature , which combines bold classicism and natural elegance .
The mission of the stylists is to respect and play with these codes to develop each season, with the help of sketches, a quality, modern and witty lingerie to live in. They imagine exclusive and subtle cuts, shapes and colors and build new combinations of noble and delicate materials.
To define the feasibility of each shape, the stylists work closely with the textile engineers and pattern makers , based on their sketches, creative boards, color ranges and materials.
modeling
In parallel with the research of the stylists and the developments of the textile engineers, it is in the expert hands of our model makers that the sketches will take shape. Prototyping lasts about six months. Each model can be declined up to six times with different materials and shapes according to the feedback from the stylists and the tests.
The modelers rectify the prototypes . They will be tested, modified until the desired effect is obtained.
Once the model is ready, the grading, variation of the basic model into different caps, and the cutting of the pieces can begin.
Maison Lejaby's corsetry expertise allows you to go up in size and up to an H cup . Finding the equation for a modern and sharp cut without compromising on support and comfort is the challenge for the model makers.
A small series will be made by our seamstresses in order to validate the assembly. It will be examined during the fitting by the pattern maker, then worn and washed to obtain opinions on comfort, material and fit. After the final validation of the patterns, the models will be sent to the workshops in the hands of our seamstresses.
corset seamstresses
Our corset seamstresses make the models according to the instructions given by the pattern maker. They have been the holders of the House's know-how for over 90 years. They take care of creating the bra from paper patterns. From the delicate cutting of the materials to the precise assembly of the creations, they also preserve the House's know-how.
They are also the ones who will identify the difficulties that manufacturing may encounter and who will work with the modelers and the design office to find optimized assembly solutions.
It is in their hands and under their sewing machine that the bras will take shape, be tested and then launched into production.
